TOM MARUSKA'S RESTORATIONS

SANDBLASTING AND PRIMING THE BODY
AND REBUILDING THE TRANSMISSION

I do the samdblasting inside my shop first erecting a framework
over the car just like those you see over the vendors at swap meets and other events.
Then I wrap it completely in clear poly and tape it to the floor.
This contains the sand inside the tent.
I build a "duct" to the sidewall exhaust fan to remove the dust from the dent.

Sandblasting and Priming the body

After getting the body and parts primed and ready to begin finish
work in prepartaion for paint I decided to rebuild the transmission
and torque converter. I replaced all of the clutch plates and steels
as well as all seals inside the components.
They were all hard and brittle from sitting so many years.
Here are a few pictures of that process.
