May 12, 2004 update:
The steering wheel turned out beautiful!
You'd never know there was ever a crack in there.
Well, on Monday, May 10th, I finally finished restoring all
of the fasteners and small parts
including removing all of the paint that was sprayed on the
wiring harness's when the amphi was last painted.
The wires now look like they belong in this "new" Amphicar!
As you can see, I'm missing the center
trunk floor board and will have to make it.
Tuesday, May 11th I began to reassemble TRFNSRF.
The first item in was the wiring harness, Then I went
to the steering gear, column and linkage underneath.
Today I installed all the steel brake lines and got the left
front end together including the nice new brakes I got
from Gord Souter. Thanks Gord!!!
The other side should go a little faster.
TRFNSRF should be on her wheels by the end of the week.

Thursday, May 13th:
The front passenger side went much easier today.
I also got both props back on along with the rest
of the wiring harness in the engine area.
Tomorrow I plan to get the back suspension back together and
set her on her wheels again.
Note the nice fender cover :-)

Saturday, May 15th update:
I didn't manage to get her on her wheels yesterday, but I did today.
The pictures show the left front and right rear
suspension assemblies. Regarding the prop shaft housing,
There is a discrepancie between the shop manual
and the parts manual. The parts manual shows the bolts being
assembled from the inside out, with the nylon washer, cap and nut
on the outside. The shop manual shows it the correct way with
the bolt going on the outside and the nut etc on the inside.
I verified this with Scott at Gordons.
After I got TRFNSRF back on her wheels, I pushed her
outside and gave the shop a washdown.
I removed the mounting brackets for the rotisserie
and painted where they were mounted to the frame.
I'll mount the doors and front hood on tomorrow
and then I have to color sand and buff her.
I'll sand and buff the deck lid off the car because
it would have to come off again to put the engine in.
I cant install any of the side moulding or other trim
until the color sanding and buffing is done.
I also don't want to install the engine or much of anything else
until the sanding and buffing is done because it gets
kinda messy with the buffer throwing rubbing and buffing compound
all around. It's nice to have her off the rotisserie again.
