September 23, 2004 added Depth Sounder etc:
Today I installed a Faria Pilot I combination Depth Sounder
water speedometer, water temperature, clock, water odometer
amp meter, timer gauge along with a seperate vintage amp gauge
and run timer.
I made the face plate out of a glove box door from a 60 Tbird.
I connected the run timer and the combination gauge through
the prop light circuit so they only run when the props are engaged.
I also installed a toggle switch on the combo gauge so I can shut if off
while running the props in a parade or car show.
I also built a swimming step that inserts into the jack hole
under the rear of the doors and a "D" ring is used to lock it
in place. It floats too in case it gets dropped in the water.
I purchase a Blaupunkt-Frankfurt radio from Matthias Klassen
in Senden Germany. (www.oldtimer-radio.de) I made the faceplate
from another trim piece from the 60 Tbird until Matthias sends
me the correct BF faceplate soon.
It's almost time to store the amphi for the winter up here
in Minnesota, I don't look forward to the snow coming
brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
